Sticky Honey Garlic Thighs

Tender chicken thighs glazed in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce, perfect for a quick and flavorful weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water (optional, for thickening)
  • Chopped green onions and sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken thighs with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken thighs skin-side down and cook until the skin is golden brown and crispy, about 6-7 minutes.
  3. Flip the chicken and cook for another 5-6 minutes until cooked through. Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  5. Stir in honey, soy sauce, and apple cider vinegar. Bring to a simmer.
  6. If you prefer a thicker sauce, stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook until sauce thickens, about 1-2 minutes.
  7. Return chicken thighs to the skillet and coat them in the sticky sauce. Cook for an additional 2 minutes to heat through.
  8. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds, if desired. Serve hot.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the chicken thighs in the sauce for 30 minutes before cooking or serve with steamed rice and sautéed vegetables.
