Spinach and Feta Puff Pastry Twists

Delightfully flaky puff pastry twists filled with a savory mixture of spinach and feta cheese, perfect as a savory snack or appetizer.

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped
  • 1/2 cup feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat; add garlic and sauté for 1 minute.
  3. Add chopped spinach, cook until wilted, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.
  4. In a bowl, mix the cooked spinach, feta cheese, cream cheese, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  5. Unfold the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface and cut it into strips, about 1 inch wide.
  6. Spread the spinach and feta mixture evenly over each strip.
  7. Twist each strip several times and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Brush each twist with beaten egg to give a golden finish.
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
  10. Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For a nuttier flavor, sprinkle some toasted sesame seeds or nigella seeds on top before baking.
