This Korean Ground Beef recipe is a quick, flavorful skillet dish featuring savory and slightly sweet seasoned beef, perfect for a weeknight dinner or meal prep.

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Cooked rice, for serving
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the ground beef. Cook, breaking it apart, until browned and cooked through, about 5–7 minutes.
  2. Add the minced garlic to the beef and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Stir in the brown sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes (if using). Cook for another 2–3 minutes until the sauce has thickened slightly.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in the sliced green onions.
  5. Serve the Korean ground beef over cooked rice and garnish with sesame seeds.

Notes

For added texture and flavor, serve with steamed vegetables or top with a fried egg.
