Gordon Ramsay Beef Stroganoff

A rich and creamy beef stroganoff inspired by Gordon Ramsay, featuring tender strips of beef cooked in a savory mushroom and sour cream sauce, perfect for a comforting dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 500g beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 250g mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 cup beef stock
  • 150ml sour cream
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Cooked egg noodles or rice, to serve

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the beef strips and sear until browned on all sides. Remove beef and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté onions and garlic until softened.
  3. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook until browned and moisture evaporates.
  4. Sprinkle flour over the mushrooms and stir well to coat.
  5. Gradually pour in the beef stock, stirring continuously to create a smooth sauce.
  6. Return the beef to the skillet and add Dijon mustard. Stir to combine.
  7. Reduce heat to low and stir in sour cream. Heat gently without boiling, allowing the sauce to thicken.
  8. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Serve stroganoff over cooked egg noodles or rice, garnished with chopped parsley.

Notes

For a richer flavor, consider adding a splash of dry white wine when deglazing the pan before adding the stock.
