Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted (for brushing)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, dissolve yeast and 1 tsp sugar in warm milk. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, remaining sugar, and salt.
  3. Add melted butter, egg, and garlic to the yeast mixture and stir to combine.
  4. Pour wet ingredients into the flour mixture and mix until a dough forms.
  5. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  6. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean towel, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  7. Punch down the dough and divide into 12 equal portions. Shape each into a ball and place in a greased baking dish.
  8. Cover and let rise for another 30–45 minutes until puffy.
  9. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush rolls with melted butter.
  10. Bake rolls for 18–20 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Remove from oven and immediately brush with remaining melted garlic butter and sprinkle parsley on top.
  12. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

For an extra cheesy twist, sprinkle shredded parmesan on top before baking or serve with garlic herb butter for dipping.
