crispy chicken schnitzel Alfredo

Crispy chicken schnitzel Alfredo combines crunchy, golden-breaded chicken with a rich and creamy Alfredo sauce, creating a satisfying fusion of textures and flavors perfect for a comforting dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 cup olive oil or vegetable oil, for frying
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese (for Alfredo sauce)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
  • 8 oz fettuccine or pasta of choice (optional, for serving)

Instructions

  1. Slice chicken breasts horizontally to create thin cutlets, then pound gently to an even thickness.
  2. Season flour with salt and pepper. Set up a breading station with flour, beaten eggs, and a mixture of breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese.
  3. Dredge each chicken cutlet in flour, dip in eggs, then coat with breadcrumb mixture.
  4. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry chicken until golden and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove and keep warm.
  5. In a separate saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  6. Pour in heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Stir in Parmesan cheese until sauce is smooth and thickened slightly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Cook pasta according to package instructions if serving with pasta.
  8. Serve crispy chicken schnitzel topped generously with Alfredo sauce, alongside or over pasta if desired. Garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

For an extra touch, sprinkle additional fresh Parmesan and chopped parsley over the finished dish; pairing it with steamed vegetables or a crisp green salad balances richness.
