Chocolate Puff Pastry

Indulge in this easy-to-make Chocolate Puff Pastry featuring flaky layers of golden pastry filled with rich, melted chocolate – perfect for a quick dessert or elegant treat.

  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 100g dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar (optional, for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface.
  3. Cut the pastry into 4 equal squares.
  4. Place chopped dark chocolate in the center of two pastry squares.
  5. Brush the edges of the pastry squares with beaten egg.
  6. Cover with the remaining two squares and press edges firmly to seal.
  7. Brush the top of each pastry with the remaining egg wash.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 15–20 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
  9. Remove from oven and let cool slightly.
  10. Dust with powdered sugar if desired before serving.

Notes

For an extra touch, serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
